What is it about us that hungers for more, even when we have enough? What do our yearnings reveal and how can we find that filling that so often seems to elude us? This morning we are going to get to the heart of embracing God’s provision for us with Meredith McDaniel who draws her inspiration from the account of the Exodus Journey. Meredith will offer some insight from the manna provision for God’s people along with sharing some practices that we can adopt that will help us through those especially dark and stressful patches in our lives.
This week our world has experienced yet another reminder of the fragility of life with the helicopter crash that took the life of NBA Superstar Kobe Bryant and eight others. We hurt because we hear of families that have suddenly lost moms, dads, and daughters and we struggle to make sense of such a tragic sudden loss. The truth is every day people experience those personal devastating losses that rock their world. Thursday we will be joined by author/Pastor Colin Smith who has walked with many families through grief and draws insight from the book of Lamentations on how to journey through this season.
Colin S. Smith is senior pastor of The Orchard Evangelical Free Church, a vibrant, multi-campus church in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. More widely, Colin is the teacher on the daily radio program Unlocking the Bible. Colin was born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland. He met his wife Karen at while studying at London Bible College and later ministered at the Enfield Evangelical Free Church in north London. The Smiths now live in the Chicago area and have two grown children and three grandchildren.
