January has been designated as “Positive Parenting Month” in one California county and Focus on the Family’s Danny Huerta says he thinks it’s time for this idea to catch on nationwide. Danny joins Ken and Deb Monday to talk about positive parenting principles and how this bandwagon is a good one for parents to jump on in 2020. He’ll discuss what positive parenting is and isn’t and how taking time out to reflect on how we are doing as parents is something that will help us grow and improve as parents and strengthen the parent-child connection.
We may be watching every calorie that goes into our mouth as we start 2020, but are we mindful of what’s taking our attention? Are we wasting our brain calories on empty mindless activities online or on our phone and if so, how can we take back our time and fill our minds and homes with nourishing activities and rich brain food? Monday we visit with author Arlene Pellicane about how growing up in an internet central, social media world does not mean that we have to be under its control. Arlene will share some strategies that will help us be good stewards of our mind and time as we live and parent.
