This is the time of year when our culture shines the spotlight on ghosts, witches, and the occult. Is there a danger in dabbling in and normalizing the occult? Today’s guest spent her life before Christ in the New Age movement and has seen the lure of the occult and is speaking with Ken this morning about the lie of enlightenment and false freedom that these practices seem of offer. Marcia Montenegro has since had her life transformed by her faith in Jesus Christ, and she is now sharing about the dangers of magic, spells, and divination and where true freedom is found.
Do you find yourself dreading this day every year? You don’t like to see the scary costumes and you are never quite sure how to navigate Halloween in your family? Today’s guest, counselor Danny Huerta, will share some ideas on how to have family fun and reach out with generosity to those around us, not by embracing the darkness, but instead, shining the light!
Marcia Montenegro is a former professional astrologer who was involved in seeking out the supernatural, as well as being involved in paranormal New Age practices. She was compelled by the intense love of Jesus to give up occult practices and turn to him as her Lord and Savior. Because of her background, she understands the appeal and dangers of the paranormal and now lectures on these topics around the country and on the radio. She is a member of Cherrydale Baptist Church and lives in Arlington, Virginia.
Daniel Huerta is the vice president of the Parenting and Youth department at Focus on the Family. In this role, he oversees Focus’ initiatives that equip parents to disciple and mentor the next generation, so that they can thrive in Christ.
