Moody RadioOver 70 million people have been forced to leave their homes around the world. That number translates to one man, woman, and child leaving their home every 2 seconds. The refugee crisis is one that is often overlooked by the world as whole families, communities, and tribes are left for years in refugee camps, waiting for an opportunity to move forward and build new futures.Wednesday we’ll talk about the role of the global church in the midst of this mass resettlement with Matthew Soerens from World Relief. Matthew will speak to the current situation and we’ll take time to pray for the millions of families currently without a home and country.
It’s the middle of the week and for many of us that means church activities like prayer meeting, Awana, small groups, and youth group. Tonight we will freely talk of Jesus and open His Word, and as we do that may we remember the thousands of brothers and sisters around the world who do not have that freedom today. As these brothers and sisters go through their day, they wonder if this will be the week that they are sent to prison or if their unbelieving family members will turn them in or seek to take their lives. Wednesday is the day we hear their stories with Todd Nettleton from Voice of the Martyrs. Todd will be sharing specific testimonies and prayer requests along with practical ways we can encourage the persecuted church. He’ll also point to a day that your church can highlight the Persecuted Church in November.
