What did you see when you looked in the mirror this morning? Did you see any imperfections? Our guest today says that God delights in using our imperfections. He often uses that which we would say is our greatest weakness to accomplish great works for His glory and purpose. In fact, God chooses the weak, the insecure, the damaged to build His Church! Dr. David Deuel will join Ken and Deb Wednesday to challenge all of us to allow people with disabilities to express their call and giftedness for the glory of Christ!
One in nine Christians around the world experience high levels of persecution, with an average of 11 Christians losing their lives every day because of their faith in Christ. Every other Wednesday we put names to those statistics as we visit with Todd Nettleton from Voice of the Martyrs. Todd shares prayer concerns as well as testimonies of how God is working through His people, living out their faith in areas around the world hostile to the Gospel.
Ken's morning devotional comes from Henry T. Blackaby and Richard Blackaby's "Experiencing God Day-by-day: Devotional"
David C Deuel is a Senior Research Fellow for the Christian Institute on Disability. He also serves as Catalyst for Disability Concerns with the Lausanne Movement.
Todd Nettleton is director of media development for The Voice of the Martyrs, working with the media to tell the stories of persecuted Christians to people in the United States. In his role with VOM, he has met with Christians who face persecution in many countries, including Sudan, China, Egypt, Turkey, Vietnam, Pakistan, Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar (Burma) and Azerbaijan.
