Our life at work is for many of us the largest portion of our day. How would God want us to use the gifts and talents in the workplace as worship to Him? Tuesday we visit with Pastor Ed Hedding about God’s purpose for work and hear more from Pastor Tanner Payton about an upcoming Work as Worship Retreat.
As racial tensions rise, the church is desperately needed to bring the Gospel to racial reconciliation and work toward healing, forgiveness, and love. Dr. John Perkins has devoted his life to the cause of reconciliation, and he’ll share how as he was being beaten by white men he made the choice to bring the Gospel into the darkness instead of being overcome by hate.
Ed Hedding is Senior Pastor of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Bettendorf. He is a graduate of Liberty University and has been in full time ministry since 1987. He loves his wife Diane and three grown children Joshua, Bethany, and Daniel and grandson Christopher Kime. In his spare time he enjoys running outside, golfing and reading. His favorite vacations are at the beach.
Dr. John M. Perkins is the founder and president emeritus of the John and Vera Mae Perkins Foundation and co-founder of Christian Community Development Association.
He has served in advisory roles under five U.S. presidents, is one of the leading evangelical voices of the American civil rights movement, and is an author and international speaker on issues of reconciliation, leadership, and community development.
For his tireless work he has received 14 honorary doctorates and in 2004 he partnered with Seattle Pacific University to launch the campus-based John Perkins Center for Reconciliation, Leadership Training, and Community Development.
