Faith & Finance LiveNative Americans. The First Americans. Have we forgotten them? Their history is everywhere in our nation from the rivers to cities to states to what we eat during our Thanksgiving dinners. But today, their battle to survive is not anywhere on our radar. On Wednesday's Mornings with Eric and Brigitte, Ron Hutchcraft joins us to talk about how America's first mission field is still one of America's greatest mission frontiers more than 400 years later. How have we, as American Christians, missed ministering to these people with just 4% of Native Americans professing to know Jesus Christ?
The Thanksgiving Guests We Forgot
What does the book of Ruth have to do with Christmas? The Christmas story has deep roots. It begins in the Old Testament, because the Old Testament points forward to Christ and his coming. Ruth’s story fulfills a vital part of salvation history in preparation for the coming of Jesus. The parallels are not accidental. They are incidental, because the events of Ruth bear directly on the events of Christmas. Author and pastor, Ray Fowler helps us explore the amazing parallels as we read the book of Ruth right alongside the Christmas story.
Pastor Ray Fowler is currently serving as Senior Pastor at Plantation Community Church. He is a graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and has been in the ministry since 1986. He and his wife, Rosi have three adult sons. He is the author of the Understanding God’s Word series, The Bible Memory Version, and the owner of Fowler Digital Services (providing ebook conversions for the Kindle, iPad and Nook). His roots are in the Baptist General Conference. He grew up at North Shore Community Baptist Church in Beverly Farms, Massachusetts. He also served there as youth pastor back in the early 1990’s while working on his M.Div. at Gordon-Conwell.
