As parents, we want our kids to grow up to be confident, compassionate and connected. We all know that raising kids these days is hard, but encouraging strong bonds of friendships can help build meaningful relationships. Making friends is one of the most important missions of middle childhood — a social skill that will endure throughout their lives. On Friday's Mornings with Eric and Brigitte, Amy Lowe joins us to talk about WinShape Camps, a way to help your child build lasting relationships not just now but also for their future. Amy would love to provide parents with practical ways to help their children build good friendships that can last a lifetime!
On Friday's Mornings with Eric and Brigitte, writer/director, David Helling joins us to talk about the release of the movie His Only Son to theaters on March 31, 2023. His Only Son is a cinematic exploration of the story of Abraham, as his faith is tested on his three-day journey to sacrifice his son. The film is a quiet exploration of the scripture, ultimately challenging the viewer to examine their own commitment to hearing and obeying God's voice.
Amy Lowe is the Director of WinShape Camps for Girls, a summer camp for girls from 1st grade to 12th grade. Amy also oversees WinShape Camps for Families, a family camp and family weekend experience. She has a B.S. in Business Administration from Samford University and a M.A. in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary. Before WinShape, Amy worked for 12 years at LifeWay Christian Resources in the areas of camping and publishing. She lives with her husband Matt and 2 kids – a pre-teen girl and an energy filled elementary school-aged boy. Like most other moms her hobbies include laundry, running the robot vacuum, and unloading the dishwasher.
David Helling grew up in Southern Louisiana but spent the bulk of his teens in Texas. Upon graduating high school, David shipped to California for a five-year-stint in the United States Marine Corps– a commitment which eventually took him to Iraq. There in the desert, near the edge of ancient Babylon, in a combat zone, another battle was raging in David himself– a war within that eventually drove him to the Bible. The result was a transformed heart, sincere faith and a burning desire to tell others of those Biblical accounts. Since then, David has made it his life’s mission to bring Scripture’s Truth from the page to the screen. This endeavor has resulted in many short films and scripts, garnering numerous awards, accolades and international attention– all which now culminate in his debut feature film, His Only Son.
