Action, adventure, video games, —they all have overwhelming amounts of violence, blood, and gore. While some movies are tasteful about it, many are just too much for our brains. But as much as violence impacts us as adults, how much is it harming our children? On Friday’s Mornings with Eric and Brigitte, Plugged In’s Executive Director, Adam Holz says, “Entertainment both reflects current mores and reflects values that can influence us and our children, sometimes in ways we’re not even conscious of.”
On Friday's Mornings with Eric and Brigitte, Ryan Galloway, Worship Director at New Covenant Church in Pompano Beach joins us to talk about why and how we worship when we gather together as a Body in Christ. He tells us, "What feels natural is to be led by our emotions and allow them to dictate our existence, but there is a deeper reality that we as believers are called to live in. Our hope is not in an emotional response--it is in Christ alone, revealed through the unchanging Word of God. We gather together to express God's greatness, remember His love and move our souls to the place of obedience."
After serving as an associate editor at NavPress’ Discipleship Journal and consulting editor for Current Thoughts and Trends, Adam now oversees the editing and publishing of Plugged In’s reviews as the site’s director. He and his wife, Jennifer, have three children. In their free time, the Holzs' enjoy playing games, a variety of musical instruments, swimming and … watching movies.
