Hour 1: Is Your Work Meaningful?
We know that work is meaningful, but we rarely feel that it is. The goodness of God’s creation means that we can at times experience work as cultivating a fertile garden, like Adam and Eve must have felt in Genesis 2. But as humans living after Genesis 3, we more often feel as if work is toilsome, pointless, and fruitless. Monday on Mornings with Eric and Brigitte, Greg Phelan, writing for the Gospel Coalition says that we often believe Genesis 2 while feeling Genesis 3. So what should we do? To feel what we know to be true, we have to constantly orient ourselves around God’s promises.

The pressure to get an abortion, feelings of shame and isolation, lack of support from family and friends, and financial hardship—it can all be so overwhelming. Greg Phelan
Greg Phelan is an associate professor of economics at Williams College. He earned his college and graduate degrees from Yale University, and his research focuses on macroeconomics and financial theory. He is an elder at Community Bible Church in Williamstown, Massachusetts, where he lives with his wife and children.
Aimee Nelson
Aimee is a hometown girl, born and raised in Riviera Beach, FL. She is honored to oversee the various Ministries of Calvary Chapel of the Palm Beaches to offer support, encouragement and training to the leaders of the church. She also serves as the Founder and Executive Director of YouMoms Motherhood Mentoring Program which was created to encourage pregnant women and teens as they walk out the mission of motherhood. Mrs. Nelson is celebrating each day married to Pastor Daryl Nelson, and they have four amazing children.
