Paul Asay has been part of the Plugged In staff since 2007, watching and reviewing roughly 15 quintillion movies and television shows. He’s written for a number of other publications, too, including Time, The Washington Post and Christianity Today. The author of several books, Paul loves to find spirituality in unexpected places, including popular entertainment, and he loves all things superhero. His vices include James Bond films, Mountain Dew and terrible B-grade movies. He’s married, has two children and a neurotic dog, runs marathons on occasion and hopes to someday own his own tuxedo.

Hour 1: Blank Canvas
When thirty-year-old Marcy Gregg woke up from a coma, 13 years of her memories had disappeared. She didn't remember her husband, and she couldn't recall her three young children, including the baby she had just given birth to. Everything had vanished. On Monday's Mornings with Eric and Brigitte, painter and author, Marcy Gregg joins us to share how God is the "artist of our lives". "We are his blank canvas, and He gives our lives color and texture with every layer applied, each one having its own purpose to the end result. Though not all layers are seen, each of them matter and none are wasted. He uses it all."
Hour 2: "The Road to Independence"
The documentary, “The Road to Independence,” shows that Christianity played a pivotal role in the push for America to become a free nation. For example, the Great Awakening was one of the major factors that helped to unite 13 separate British colonies. Furthermore, pastors (especially those in New England) preached liberty so often that they helped to create the United States. On Monday's 4th of July edition of Mornings with Eric and Brigitte, director and producer of this documentary, Jerry Newcombe joins us to talk about "The Road to Independence", which is the latest in the Foundation of the American Liberty Series produced for The Providence Forum.

It's summertime, school is out, and it's time for a movie night. On Monday's Mornings with Eric and Brigitte, Plugged In's Paul Asay shares with us some great Christian family movies streaming right now.

Marcy Gregg is an abstract oil painter and also a speaker who shares her story of hope, resilience, and survival. After a coma left her with little chance of recovery, Marcy ultimately regained consciousness but lost much of her memory. Faced with the daunting task of rebuilding her identity, Marcy slowly put the pieces of her life back together, finally returning to her true passion, art. Marcy and her husband, Dev, are the parents of three grown children and live in Charlotte, NC.

Dr. Jerry Newcombe is the executive director of Providence Forum, an outreach of Coral Ridge Ministries Media (D. James Kennedy Ministries) where he also serves as senior producer (TV), columnist, and author.
