Today is Memorial Day, and on Mornings with Eric and Brigitte, military wife and co-author of The 5 Love Languages, Military Edition and Faith Deployed: Daily Encouragement for Military Wives, Jocelyn Green joins us to help us understand a little better the hard road that military families walk and how to pray for these families.
Hour 2: On Spiritual Combat: 30 Missions for Victorious Warfare
Most of us live without thinking about tragic or catastrophic events until they happen to us. Today, we are living in unprecedented times of physical, emotional and spiritual battles with fear, anxiety and uncertainty that can take a toll on our bodies, minds and souls. On Monday's Mornings with Eric and Brigitte Lt. Col Dave Grossman joins us to talk about his book, On Spiritual Combat, a spiritual warfare guide that includes powerful readings, encouraging Scripture, meaningful hymns and questions for reflection that prepares us to fight the battles we encounter.

Overlooking the Hudson River on the campus of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point are 12 granite benches, each inscribed with a word representing a key leadership virtue: compassion, courage, dedication, determination, dignity, discipline, integrity, loyalty, perseverance, responsibility, service, and trust. In his book, Character Carved in Stone, Pat Williams, senior vice president of the Orlando Magic, shares the incredible stories of West Point graduates who exemplified these traits, from the Civil War to the War on Terror. Join Mornings with Eric and Brigitte to hear Pat talk about how readers of all backgrounds can develop these 12 essential virtues in their lives.

Jocelyn Green
Jocelyn Green is an award-winning author who inspires faith and courage in her readers through both fiction and nonfiction. A former military wife herself, she authored Faith Deployed: Daily Encouragement for Military Wives and coauthored The 5 Love Languages® Military Edition (with Dr. Gary Chapman). Her novels, inspired by real heroines on America’s home front, are marked by their historical integrity and gritty inspiration. Jocelyn graduated from Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, with a BA in English (concentration in writing). Jocelyn lives with her husband, Rob, and two small children in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Lt. Col Dave Grossman
Lt. Col Dave Grossman served as a U.S. Army Ranger for 24 years. He is a U.S. Army Ranger, a paratrooper, and a former West Point psychology professor. He has a black belt in Hojutsu, the martial art of the firearm, and has been inducted into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame. He helped train mental health professionals after the Jonesboro school massacre, and he was also involved in counseling or court cases in the aftermath of the Paducah, Springfield, Littleton, and Nickel Mines Amish school massacres.
Pat Williams
Pat Williams is a basketball Hall-of-Famer, co-founder of the NBA’s Orlando Magic and former general manager of the Philadelphia 76ers. One of America’s top motivational and inspirational corporate speakers, Pat has addressed employees from many of the Fortune 500 companies. Pat is also the author of over 100 books, his most recent title being Revolutionary Leadership.
