A lot of us read bible verses, but how many of us really study the scripture verses we read?  Bible study is difficult and time-consuming, but how are we to "love the Lord our God with all our heart and with all our soul and with all our mind" if we don't know Him"? (Matt 22:37)  Monday on Mornings with Eric and Brigitte, Dr. James Coakley, professor of Bible at Moody Bible Institute and Moody Theological Seminary, shares some tips and techniques to set bible study goals in the new year.

Jon Gauger has been with Moody Radio nearly three decades and works with special projects. In addition to being the host of the weekly teaching program, Moody Presents, Jon is hosting and producing The Land and the Book. He writes and produces a weekly commentary, creates special documentaries, and has traveled to 30 countries covering stories for Moody Radio, or doing training work with international broadcasting partners. Jon is married to Diana, and they have two grown children-all of whom are Moody graduates. An avid photographer, videographer and reader, Jon also enjoys camping and freelance voice-over work, including audiobook projects.

Glenn Zimmerman has been with Kenneth Frenke & Co. since 1996. Glenn is Vice-president of Kenneth Frenke & Co., manages the Atlanta office and regularly travels to South Florida to meet with clients.  He lives in Atlanta with his wife Emily and their two terriers, Jackson and MacKenzie.

Dr. Jim Coakley

Dr. Jim Coakley has taught for sixteen years as professor of Bible at Moody Theological Seminary specializing in Old Testament and Biblical Languages. Prior to Moody he was involved in pastoral ministry for thirteen years.  He has traveled to Israel multiple times as a tour leader and has also toured throughout Turkey. Jim is married to Gayle and they have two grown children and two grandchildren. He was a contributor to the Moody Bible Commentary and is working on a second doctoral degree through the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa.  He also has a special interest in how the use of technology intersects with Biblical studies and has written articles and spoken at conferences on that topic.
