Hour 1: New Session for Supreme Court Begins

The Supreme Court has returned to the bench to start a new term that will be studded with major cases on gay and transgender rights, immigration, abortion, guns and religion. The rulings will arrive by June, in the midst of an already divisive presidential campaign. On Tuesday Dr. Mark Caleb Smith from Cedarville University will join Mornings with Eric and Brigitte to give us a clearer understanding of the process of an inquiry into impeachment proceedings and what that process entails.

Hour 3: Yom Kippur: Day of Atonement

Yom Kippur is the holiest day of the Jewish year. It's the day of atonement after the Jewish new year, Rosh Hashanah. On this day, Jews ask God for forgiveness for their sins.  What does that mean for us as believers?  Yom Kippur is an annual day of fasting and prayer that was observed by the Israelites in the Old Testament and is still observed today.  Jesus completely and perfectly fulfilled the Day of Atonement and every other requirement of the law for us (Romans 8:4).

Dr. Mark Smith is the Chair, Professor of Political Science, Director of the Center for Political Studies at Cedarville University.  He teaches courses in American politics, constitutional law, and research methodology/data analysis.
