Hour 1: Shhh...Mental Illness

Join Dawn and Steve in the Morning for a devotional from Blackaby Ministries International about putting our brother first.

Let no one seek his own, but each one the other's well-being.   1 Corinthians 10:24

In addition, K.T. Griffiths has so much to share about mental illness from a parent's perspective. Listen as she tells us how a caregiver can offer support to a loved one who is struggling. She has written a helpful resource titled Shhh...Mental Illness, The Silent Disease: A Mother's Heart.

K. T. Griffiths offers her first book, a memoir, to all those who face the realities of life and parenting. As a mother of 6 children, she has been tried and tested in so many ways that this book became a necessity. People know her for her wisdom, honesty, and authentic empathy for the plight of others. It is exactly this trait that has equipped her in this book to introduce you to the chaos of the mind amidst life’s relational struggles and emerge stronger than before.

Hour 3: The Uncovery Book

How can the Church better provide Christ-centered recovery to heal trauma? Authors Brit Eaton and George A. Wood will point to hope in their book The Uncovery: Understanding the Power of Community to Heal Trauma. There is healing in the messiness of our broken lives.

Brit is a writer, speaker, discipler, and all-around pursuer of the Kingdom of God. She helps corporate, nonprofit, and ministry leaders find the words to say to move people to action. An eager apostle and strong advocate for nontraditional recovery and women in ministry, Brit thrives in diverse, spirit-filled environments committed to unity in the Body of Christ.

George is an ordained minister, pastoral care counselor, recovery ministry founder, and recovery activist. A former addict and suicide survivor, George has dedicated his life to radically grace-laced, Christ-centered recovery for people struggling with addictions, mental health problems, and suicidal thoughts.
