Hour 2: Children's Books (That Even Adults Will Enjoy)

Are you looking for beautifully told stories to share with your children or grandchildren? Dawn and Steve talk with several authors about their children's books. Each of these books tells an amazing story, honors the Lord, and provides a great new resource for your home library.

Shannon Cook shares her book I Made the Earth. Shannon is a knitting and sewing pattern designer, author and publisher, and the writer behind the popular blog www.veryshannon.com. She is happily living a handmade life near the ocean on Vancouver Island with her husband and two daughters.

Michelle Medlock Adams will discuss her book Love Connects Us All. She is a best-selling author and an award-winning journalist. Since graduating with a journalism degree from Indiana University, Michelle has written more than 1,500 articles for newspapers, magazines, and websites; acted as a stringer for the Associated Press; written for a worldwide ministry; hosted “Joy In Our Town” for the Trinity Broadcasting Network; blogged twice weekly for Guideposts from 2013 to 2015; written a weekly column for a Midwest newspaper; and served as an adjunct professor at Taylor University three different years. Michelle is married to her high school sweetheart, Jeff, and they have two daughters, Abby and Allyson, two sons-in-law, two granddaughters, and two grandsons.

In addition, Wendy Hinote Lanier will give us insight into her book The Dog That Gave My Brother Words. Wendy is an author, former elementary science teacher, and native Texan who writes, teaches, and speaks on a variety of topics for both children and adults. She taught elementary school for over 18 years and all those years in the classroom have given her a pretty good idea of what kids wonder about!

To wrap up this hour, Mary Holloman tells us about her timely book The Anxious Lily. Mary Holloman has been married to her hubby of 10 years and is the mother of six precious children – 3 here on earth, and 3 in heaven. She is a writer, author, Communications Coordinator, ping-pong master, and dark chocolate enthusiast. She loves the challenge of communicating truth through story-driven writing. Most of Mary's writing focuses on the things that keep her awake at night: navigating parenthood, valuing all human life, making sense of grief, and pursuing a closer relationship with Christ.
