Hour 1: Freedom in Christ Ministries

Join Dawn and Steve in the Morning for a devotional from Blackaby Ministries International about learning to view success as God does.

For who has despised the day of small things?   Zechariah 4:10

President Dan Studt of Freedom in Christ Ministries joins the conversation to tell us about this incredible discipleship ministry. Dan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Messiah College (1993) and a Master of Divinity degree at Palmer Theological Seminary (then Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary) in 1999. He served in pastoral ministry for 25 years as a youth and family pastor, and then as a church planter. Dan served as the Northeast Director of FICM from November 2009 until December 2015. He then joined FICM Field Staff on a part-time basis from January 2016 until May 2019. Currently, Dan is in the role of President of FICM-USA. Dan also enjoys teaching FICM seminars and leading people through The Steps to Freedom in Christ. Dan and his wife Jen have four children and currently live in Knoxville.

Hour 2: Bill Gaither

Melissa Briggs, an expert in Hebrew, will talk with us about the Hebrew word, Magen.  Melissa is an experienced Hebrew teacher passionate about making the language of the Scriptures accessible to everyone. Born in the USA, Melissa studied Hebrew in Jerusalem, then taught in England for over a decade. She now lives in Nashville, Tennessee with her husband and two children. She loves helping students to achieve their goals of reading the Bible in the original language or learning to converse in Modern Hebrew.

Gospel music legend, Bill Gaither, has some great stories to share with us! He also tells us about the new Christmas special called All Heaven and Nature Sing with Bill Gaither & Friends featured on TBN! An avid fan of gospel quartets throughout his childhood, Bill founded his first group, The Bill Gaither Trio, in 1956, while he was a college student. He began teaching English in 1959 because his musical aspirations couldn’t support him full-time… yet. In 1962, Bill did one of the best things he has ever done. He married Gloria Sickal, who became the best writing partner Bill could have found anywhere. The couple spent the first five years of their married life juggling full-time teaching jobs, writing, singing, recording, and publishing until music became their full-time career in 1967. The collaborations of Bill and Gloria have resulted in more than 700 popular gospel songs. After decades of unprecedented musical successes, Bill and Gloria still operate their business from Bill’s hometown of Alexandria, Indiana, and they dwell in the same home in which they raised their family. They live a lifestyle focused on investing their resources into eternal things.

Hour 3: Outrageous Obedience

Dr. Mark Turman from the Denison Forum talks about the importance of having a true living relationship with Christ and spurring one another on to love and good deeds! Dr. Mark Turman is the Executive Director of Denison Forum. He previously served as the founding pastor of Crosspoint Church in McKinney, Texas. Mark was raised in Tyler in a large Roman Catholic family. At seventeen, he made a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and later committed to vocational ministry during his freshman year in college at Howard Payne University. He completed his undergraduate program there before completing a Master of Theology degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and, later, a Doctorate of Ministry through Truett Seminary. He married his high school sweetheart, Judi, and they have two children and one grandchild.

In addition, Rachelle Starr will encourage us to answer God's call to be the light in the darkest places. Rachelle founded Scarlet Hope, a nonprofit dedicated to sharing the hope of Jesus with women in the adult entertainment industry. Rachelle is also a speaker and author and has written the book Outrageous Obedience.
