Hard things these days ... funerals, the inability to hold funerals or visit family in hospitals or nursing homes, disobedient kids, abusive situations or losing out on graduations or weddings. Or perhaps some families are doing pretty well and don't mind the interruptions but are not comfortable admitting that out loud. Yes, there is plenty of guilt to go around.
