On Fridays we concentrate on our Brothers and Sisters who suffer for the sake of the Gospel. Steve and Kelli share a heartbreaking story out of Nigeria, where Musim Herdsmen slaughtered a Christian pastor. Nigeria is the 3rd most violent country in all the world, and this happened while we were raising funds this week for the Nigerian 200,000 watt transmitter for Trans World Radio. Africa needs Jesus. Thank you for partnering with us!
Kelli and Steve continue the story of the persecuted Nigerian pastor, and the Gospel message is presented. A listener calls in with a grateful heart.
Dr. Mark Jobe, Kelli and Steve meet for the first time in the WGNR studios. He shares the vision of Moody for the next 10 years, and explains his program, Bold Steps. Steve asks Pastor Jobe what it's like to wear many hats, as MBI President, husband, father, pastor and radio talent. "Life is full," he says, but with his wife, they function as a team. He committed a long time ago that he would never put ministry ahead of his family. He is proud of Moody's three tiered ministry with the Bible Institute, Publishing and Radio. "Our sweet spot is equipping believers to live on mission for Jesus!"
Dr. Mark Jobe serves as Moody Bible Institute's 10th president, taking office on Jan. 2, 2019. He and his wife, Dee, have been married 32 years and have three adult children, Marissa, Josiah, and Grant. The Jobes currently reside in Chicagoland area where they are active members of New Life Community Church, a nondenominational multisite church where Dr. Jobe has served as senior pastor since 1986. Dr. Jobe and his son Josiah are both graduates of MBI.
