- 1 Peter 4:1-11 / We're studying the book of 1 Peter. The Christians in Peter’s day understood the word “challenges.” They suffered severe persecution under the emperor, Nero. Peter’s letter encouraged those believers to represent the love of Christ before their persecutors. He called upon them to embrace the grace God had abundantly poured out to them.
