I received this Facebook message from Barbara a couple of days ago:
I want to tell you about one good and effective thing I remembered from childhood when "object lessons " were used for illustrating Bible lessons or life lessons. I remember one in particular in which the teacher brought in a basket full of potatoes, (the tater family). She had dressed each potato with "potato clothes" and each one had name, like "Hesitator", "Dictator" , "Commentater", and another one or two, with the last one being "Sweetater". She then put spiritual applications to each "tater"name. It was very effective and enjoyable. It's the kind of thing that sticks with you for life!"
Not only did this idea make me smile.. it got me thinking:
Can you name something you learned in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, church camp.. or church in general that has stayed with you even to this day?
