Lord's Name in Vain

Today on Karl and Crew Mornings, the team talks about rebellion against God. Every Christian knows that famous commandment: You shall not say the Lord's name in vain. Many of us have interpreted that to mean cussing with God's name in the mix. Now we know that cursing is obviously wrong, yet this is not what 'saying the Lord's name in vain' really means. That would be too easy. In fact, it is when we claim the name of God but live in a way that suggests his saving of us has really had no transformation in our lives. We claim to be Christian's but we ruin our witness by the way we act. We all have done this in one way or another. The important thing is even this can be wiped off the slate. If you confess and repent, God will forgive you and you can keep moving forward. Just remember that this hurdle is much bigger than just a curse word.
