Critiquing Critical Theory

Critical theory is an ideology that is rapidly spreading across our culture -  influencing education, social justice and sometimes the church!  We need to identify this ideology when we see it and confront it with Biblical grace and truth.

Neil Shenvi

Neil Shenvi received his Ph.D. in theoretical chemistry at University of California, Berkeley, and worked at Yale University and Duke University, publishing over 30 articles on quantum computation, spin physics, and electronic structure theory. After becoming a Christian in graduate school, he became interested in the intersection of science and religion, the reliability of the New Testament, and philosophical arguments for the truth of Christianity.  He attends Summit Church in North Carolina with his wife Christina and their four children.

Chris Brooks is the Teaching Pastor of Woodside Bible Church, a multisite congregation across the metro-Detroit area.    Chris served for 20 years as the Senior Pastor of Evangel Ministries, a thriving 1600-member church in the heart of Detroit. He also served as the campus dean of Moody Theological Seminary in Plymouth, Michigan. A popular Detroit radio host since 2005, Chris is author of Kingdom Dreaming and Urban Apologetics. He graduated from Michigan State University with a BA in Finance, completed his MA in Christian Apologetics at Biola University, and graduated from the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics. He is currently pursuing a DMin degree at Asbury Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Yodit, are the proud parents of Christopher, Zewditu, Cameron, Judah, and Sophia.
