What does it take to bring a boy out of an environment of where his father is passive or gone, his mother is overwhelmed with responsibilities, and his counselors are his peers or worse, gang members? What does it take to build a man from these raw materials? For nearly 2 decades, Jason Wilson has been training boys and transforming fathers in inner city Detroit. He joins Chris to explain the keys to freedom he has found that turn the hearts of the fathers to their sons and the sons to their fathers.
Jason Wilson is the founder and head instructor of the Cave of Adullam Transformational Training Academy (CATTA) designed to teach, train and transform boys before the world does. Since 2007, boys and young men have been tested in key life and biblical principles, and are challenged emotionally and physically through martial arts training to apply these principles. The results are not only internalized but also externalized in their day to day lives. His award winning work in the lives of youth through his faith based organizations has been recognized from Metro-Detroit to the President’s office in Washington D.C.
Chris Brooks is the Teaching Pastor of Woodside Bible Church, a multisite congregation across the metro-Detroit area. He graduated from Michigan State University with a BA in Finance, completed his MA in Christian Apologetics at Biola University, and graduated from the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics. He is currently pursuing a DMin degree at Asbury Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Yodit, are the proud parents of Christopher, Zewditu, Cameron, Judah, and Sophia.
