Dr. Charlie Self serves as director of city expansion at Made to Flourish, a network of pastors who seek to encourage and resource each other to integrate faith, work and economic wisdom for the flourishing of our communities. Charlie is an ordained minister with three decades of pastoral and teaching and consulting experience. He has authored three books and often participates in radio interviews. He has an M.A. in History on the Church and Social Change in Latin America and a Ph.D. in Modern European History from the University of California, Santa Cruz. He also has an M.A. in philosophical and systematic theology.
Chris Brooks is the Teaching Pastor of Woodside Bible Church, a multisite congregation across the metro-Detroit area. Chris served for 20 years as the Senior Pastor of Evangel Ministries, a thriving 1600-member church in the heart of Detroit. He also served as the campus dean of Moody Theological Seminary in Plymouth, Michigan. A popular Detroit radio host since 2005, Chris is author of Kingdom Dreaming and Urban Apologetics. He graduated from Michigan State University with a BA in Finance, completed his MA in Christian Apologetics at Biola University, and graduated from the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics. He is currently pursuing a DMin degree at Asbury Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Yodit, are the proud parents of Christopher, Zewditu, Cameron, Judah, and Sophia.
