What are your best memories of your grandmother or grandfather? Many of us have wonderful, warm thoughts of these loving adults who influenced our lives. It’s true - Grandparents really do matter! Larry Fowler and Josh Mulvihill of Legacy Coalition will point to the high priority the Bible puts on the role of grandparents. They will also expand our view of family and help us leave a legacy of faith to our children and grandchildren.
Larry Fowler is the founder of the Legacy Coalition. His vision for a national grandparenting ministry brought together a gifted team of family, children and youth ministry leaders to launch this movement of God. His 40 years plus of ministry include experience as youth pastor and serving on the staff of Awana Clubs International as a missionary, International Director and Executive Director of Training.
Larry has authored books on children’s and family ministry, and is a regular conference speaker. Larry and his wife, Diane have two children and seven grandchildren.
Josh Mulvihill is the Executive Director of Church and Family Ministry at Renewanation, where he equips parents and grandparents to disciple their family, and coaches church leaders to help them design Bible-based, Christ-centered family ministries. Josh has served as a pastor for nearly 20 years, is a founding member of the Legacy Coalition, and has a PhD from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is the author or editor of numerous books including Biblical Grandparenting, Equipping Grandparents, Preparing Children for Marriage, and Rooted Kids Curriculum and Worship. Josh and his wife Jen are blessed with five children.
Chris Brooks is the Teaching Pastor of Woodside Bible Church, a multisite congregation across the metro-Detroit area. Chris served for 20 years as the Senior Pastor of Evangel Ministries, a thriving 1600-member church in the heart of Detroit. He also served as the campus dean of Moody Theological Seminary in Plymouth, Michigan. A popular Detroit radio host since 2005, Chris is author of Kingdom Dreaming and Urban Apologetics. He graduated from Michigan State University with a BA in Finance, completed his MA in Christian Apologetics at Biola University, and graduated from the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics. He is currently pursuing a DMin degree at Asbury Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Yodit, are the proud parents of Christopher, Zewditu, Cameron, Judah, and Sophia.
