James K. A. Smith (PhD, Villanova University) is professor of philosophy at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he also holds the Gary and Henrietta Byker Chair in Applied Reformed Theology and Worldview. He is the editor of Comment magazine. Smith has authored or edited many books, including Desiring the Kingdom and Who's Afraid of Postmodernism? He is also editor of the well-received Church and Postmodern Culture series.

“How to Reach Men” workshop

Moody Theological Seminary, Michigan will be hosting a Pastor's workshop "How to Reach Men" on Friday, April 29th, 8:30AM - Noon. The goal of the workshop is to encourage pastors and expand awareness of effective men's ministries in the region. The program includes corporate worship, lectures from pastor, professor, and Gospel Coalition author, Eric Redmond on how to reach men, exposure to unique approaches in both urban and suburban men's ministry, and free Bible Software for all pastors and ministry leaders who attend.

Chris Brooks

Chris Brooks is the senior pastor of Evangel Ministries, a thriving 1600-member church in the heart of Detroit. He also serves as campus dean of Moody Theological Seminary in Plymouth, Mich. A popular Detroit radio host since 2005, Chris is author of Kingdom Dreaming and Urban Apologetics. He graduated from Michigan State University with a BA in Finance, completed his MA in Christian Apologetics at Biola University, and graduated from the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics. He and his wife, Yodit, are the proud parents of Christopher, Zewditu, Cameron, Judah and Sophia.
