How Bonhoeffer's Writings Can Affect Our Daily Lives

Dietrich Bonhoeffer is one of the most widely read Christian writers of the twentieth century. Each Sunday, his writings are referenced in sermons and study groups around the world. Ed Stetzer talks with Matthew Kirkpatrick about Bonhoeffer's writings on topics like worship, prayer, confession and evangelism, that affect all of us in our daily lives.

Matthew Kirkpatrick is Tutorial Fellow in Christian Ethics and Doctrine at Wycliffe Hall, and a member of the Faculty of Theology and Religion at the University of Oxford, where he teaches at both undergraduate and graduate levels. He writes on a wide range of topics, but especially the work of Soren Kierkegaard and Dietrich Bonhoeffer, with a particular interest on their importance for the church today. He has written several books, including "Bonhoeffer for the Church: An Introduction".

Ed Stetzer, Ph.D., is Dean of the Talbot School of Theology at Biola University. He has planted, revitalized, and pastored churches; trained pastors and church planters on six continents; earned two master’s degrees and two doctorates; and he has written hundreds of articles and a dozen books. He is Regional Director for Lausanne North America, is the Editor-in-Chief of Outreach Magazine, and regularly writes for news outlets such as USA Today and CNN.  He serves at his local church, Highpoint Church, as a teaching pastor.  Ed and his wife Donna have been married for more than 35 years and are the parents of three daughters.
