Moody RadioFebruary 24 marks one year since Russia invaded Ukraine. We have two Sergeys who will join us to talk about the changes in that country and the continued struggle of believers there. Mission Eurasia’s Sergey Rakhuba will talk about the work that continues after a year. Pastor and author Sergey Sologub will talk about the personal toll the war has taken. Sergey Rakhuba has served as the president of Mission Eurasia since 2010. Prior to this, Sergey served as the vice president of the ministry, which was known then as Russian Ministries, overseeing all the ministries in Eurasia.
Originally from Ukraine, Sergey Rakhuba later moved to Moscow. After the Iron Curtain fell, Sergey helped to plant a church near Moscow, later helped to establish 52 Evangelism and Church-Planting Centers in key regions of Eurasia.
Wayne Shepherd is a veteran radio broadcaster with over 40 years of experience as a programming manager and radio host. Owner of Wayne Shepherd Communications, he hosts several nationally syndicated radio programs. For nearly 33 years, Wayne served at Moody Broadcasting in Chicago where, as Broadcast Program Manager, he led the team that created the full service Moody Broadcasting Network, pioneering the creation of satellite-fed programming and news to hundreds of radio stations. Wayne also volunteers his time serving on the ministry boards of Mission Eurasia and Far East Broadcasting Company and hosts his own weekly interview program, FIRST PERSON with Wayne Shepherd.
Sergey Sologub is pastor of Irpin Bible Church in Kyiv reg., Ukraine. He graduated from the the Institute of Preparing of Church Ministers (CLZ) in Irpin, Ukraine, and is completing his studies at Ukrainian Baptist Theological Seminary in Lviv, Ukraine. Prior to becoming a pastor he served for seven years with Youth for Christ. He and his wife, Tatiana, have three children. He considers acknowledging God and leading others to know Him to be his life calling.
Chris Fabry is the host of Chris Fabry Live, one hour of spiritual encouragement from his backyard radio fence. The program challenges listeners to think biblically about their spiritual journeys. Chris is also the author of the Christy Award-winning novel Dogwood, June Bug, ECPA Christian Book Award-winner (Fiction) Almost Heaven, Not in the Heart and Borders of the Heart. He and his family live near Tucson, Ariz.
