In today’s tech-driven culture, we have more information at our fingertips than our parents could imagine. And with all the upside to that access, we’ve lost the ability to focus and actually read a book. Dr. Leland Ryken and Glenda Mathes will give practical encouragement on how to recover the delightful and lost art of reading on Chris Fabry Live.
Leland Ryken (Ph.D., University of Oregon) is emeritus professor of English at Wheaton College serving there for nearly fifty years. He served as literary stylist for the English Standard Version Bible and has authored or edited over sixty books, including The Word of God in English and A Complete Handbook of Literary Forms in the Bible.
Glenda Faye Mathes (B.L.S., University of Iowa) is a professional writer with a passion for literary excellence. She has authored over a thousand articles and several nonfiction books as well as the Matthew in the Middle fiction series. Glenda has been the featured speaker at women's conferences and at seminars for prison inmates.
Chris Fabry is the host of Chris Fabry Live, one hour of spiritual encouragement from his backyard radio fence. The program challenges listeners to think biblically about their spiritual journeys. Chris is also the author of the Christy Award-winning novel Dogwood, June Bug, ECPA Christian Book Award-winner (Fiction) Almost Heaven, Not in the Heart and Borders of the Heart. He and his family live near Tucson, Ariz.
Chris Fabry Live is designed to build up the spiritual immune system of the Christian men and woman. As you walk through the journey of faith called the Christian life, you meet new people, learn new things, laugh, cry and, most importantly, grow in your understanding of God.
