Dr. George Sweeting was the sixth president (1971–1987) and chancellor of Moody Bible Institute. He received a diploma from Moody Bible Institute (1945), his B.A. from Gordon College and his Doctor of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Dr. Sweeting has served as a pastor in several churches, including Grace Church, Madison Avenue Baptist Church and The Moody Church and also spent nine years traveling the world as an evangelist. Dr. Sweeting has written numerous books, including The Joys of Successful Aging, Too Soon to Quit, Lessons from the Life of Moody and Don't Doubt in the Dark. He formerly hosted the Moody Radio program Climbing Higher and is a former columnist for Moody Magazine. Dr. Sweeting and his wife, Hilde, reside in the Chicagoland area.
Dr. Gary Chapman is a well-known marriage counselor and director of marriage seminars. He has written more than 40 books including the #1 New York Times Best Seller, The Five Love Languages. Chapman is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute and holds B.A. and M.A. degrees in anthropology from Wheaton College and Wake Forest University, respectively. He has received M.R.E. and Ph.D. degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and taken postgraduate work at the University of North Carolina and Duke University.
Dr. Crawford Loritts is a nationally known Bible speaker, author and senior pastor of Fellowship Bible Church in Roswell, Ga. In addition to a bachelor of science degree, Crawford has been honored with a Doctor of Divinity from Biola University, a Doctor of Sacred Theology from Philadelphia College of the Bible, a Doctor of Letters from Trinity International University, and a Doctor of Divinity from Moody Bible Institute. Crawford and his wife, Karen, have four children and live in Georgia.
D. A. Horton currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Intercultural Studies at California Baptist University and pastor of Reach Fellowship, a church plant in Long Beach, CA. Prior to his current roles, he served as chief evangelist for the Urban Youth Workers Institute (UYWI); as a church planter/pastor in Kansas City, MO; as a national coordinator of urban student ministries at the North American Mission Board (NAMB); and as the executive director at ReachLife Ministries. He is currently working on his PhD in applied theology with a North American missions emphasis at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has authored seven books, including Bound to Be Free and Enter the Ring.
He is of Mexican-Choctaw heritage and he and his best friend, Elicia, have been married for 15 years. They have three children.
Chris Fabry is the host of Chris Fabry Live, one hour of spiritual encouragement from his backyard radio fence. The program challenges listeners to think biblically about their spiritual journeys.
