Dr. Brenda Spahn
Dr. Brenda Spahn is founder and executive director of the Lovelady Center, the largest and most successful nonprofit transitional center for women in the country. It serves 450 women and children every day, providing substance abuse counseling, drug rehabilitation, meals, childcare, career counseling, and job opportunities to women working to establish successful lives outside of prison walls.
Visit the Lovelady Center for more information.
Shay Curry was one of the original women who lived with Brenda Lovelady Spahn during the first year of her “whole-way house.” Ten years later, Curry is the director of intake operations at the Lovelady Center. Shay never misses a day of work, and loves being at the center, helping women who are looking for the second chance she received. Shay accompanies Brenda on speaking engagements, and Brenda calls her “one of the most influential people in my life.”
Tiffany Gulledge was also part of the “whole-way house” and now works as a receptionist at The Lovelady Center. She has been drug-free since December 26, 2004 and is the Lovelady Center’s unofficial social director, maintaining contact with many of the women who have come through the center.
