It’s the first day of our 40 Days of Prayer initiative. This was suggested originally by the National Religious Broadcasters and their emphasis is on 2 Chronicles 7:14. We add to that and take us in a slightly different direction. Our theme during the month will be “Fix Your Eyes on Jesus.” And we’ll be studying Philippians 2:1-11. Join with us and pray and meditate on God’s Word.

Monday, we find out about your secret name. When you think of yourself, your life, all your experiences, a lot of the baggage of sin puts a label on us. Kary says, that doesn’t have to be. Don’t think of yourself as a loser, as a failure, as a second-class Christian. Find out your secret name. Plus, an honest discussion about the rally in Washington, D.C. this past weekend. Evangelicals were featured speakers and were part of the crowd. While many resonate with restoring honor and getting back to the intent of the framers of our Constitution, some have reservations about the “Jesus” of Glenn Beck. Does this matter in today’s world? Join us for the discussion.

What is true religion? Palmer Chinchen says it’s a process of pouring ourselves out for others. And that process yields radically transformed lives. And, we take a question from a listener who says, God told me I would stay single for the rest of my life. He’s relieved he won’t have to support a family, but wonders, was that really from God? These questions and more on Tuesday.

We begin with a Friday Sigh and dueling banjos as Chris Wheeler joins Chris Fabry for a musical interlude. And Chris Fabry has some things on his heart since we’ve had conversations about illegal immigration, the mosque in New York, same-sex marriage legal decisions. It’s always a tricky thing to figure out how to engage our culture on issues of social and cultural and political importance, and still keep our focus on the gospel. Chris wants to give you his philosophy of avoiding spiritual distractions.
Plus, a new idea for the program. We have four segments for the show, each about 10 minutes long. Chris throws out a different question for you to answer in each segment.
1) How has the Friday Sigh helped you in life?
2) What verse of Scripture has encouraged you recently and why are you holding onto it?
3) You can ask any person from the Old Testament a question. Whom would you choose and what’s the question? and
4) The Mystery Question. Don't miss this special Friday program!

When life is not like it was or what it’s going to be, what do you do? Plus, many have been horrified by the events in Afghanistan in the past few days. A humanitarian medical team was gunned down last week. Among those who died were devoted followers of Christ who wanted to provide medical aid to “the least of these.” Be encouraged to pray for those who remain behind in Afghanistan, as well as the family members of those murdered.

"Harper Lee's novel To Kill a Mockingbird is beloved for its indelible characters and moral courage. It is also rich with spiritual lessons that are as relevant today as they were when the book was first published in 1960," says Matt Litton, who takes a unique approach to mining those lessons in his new book, The Mockingbird Parables. Matt will join us today to talk about the essential characters and themes of his book and remind us of the importance of compassion, grace, courage, and real community. Next, Mike Arnold will update us on the ministry of Cross Trail Outfitters and its impact on the lives of many young men.

On this Friday's edition, we'd like you to hear a story that we alluded to last week. Tim was a young man who witnessed the murder of his father. What he chose to do with the anger and bitterness towards the perpetrators is a story of God’s grace, forgiveness, and the difference mercy makes in some broken hearts. And it’s time to meet an old friend and catch up on his story. It’s a man who burst onto the Christian music scene—and then kind of disappeared. Don’t miss it!
