Is It Okay For Christians to Get Tattoos?

Though once taboo among Christians, tattoos now are widely accepted — especially among so-called Millennials. In fact, nearly 40% of young adults aged 18–28 have tattoos. That’s more than four times the number in the Baby Boom generation! This Saturday, we’ll explore tattoos and the Christian meaning of our bodies. Joining host Julie Roys will be Jeremy Edmondson, pastor of Resurgence Church in Evansville, Ind., who proudly sports dozens of tattoos. Jeremy Edmonson is teaching pastor at Resurgence, a Southern Baptist Church in Evansville, Ind. Jeremy has been involved in ministry for the past 13 years and recently completed a Masters in Religious Studies at Liberty Theological Seminary. Julie Roys has become a trusted voice of biblical wisdom on Moody Radio, earning an audience through her weekly commentaries and appearances on The Morning Ride. Julie came to Moody Radio in 2007, after taking a 13-year hiatus from broadcasting to raise her children and serve in youth ministry. Prior to that, Julie worked as a TV news reporter for a CBS affiliate in Indiana and as a newswriter for WGN-TV and Fox News in Chicago.
Julie holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Wheaton College and a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Northwestern University. Julie and her husband, Neal, live in the Chicago suburbs and have three children.
