Founder's Week: Dr. Paul Nyquist

Summary
Dr. Paul Nyquist brought the opening message of Founder’s Week 2013. He introduced the theme for the conference, “Knowing Christ,” using Philippians 3 as the text. He challenges us by asking what we would give up to know Christ better. We'll also hear music highlights from the Moody Symphonic Band and join in on congregational singing.

Dr. Paul Nyquist
Dr. Paul Nyquist serves as the ninth president of the Moody Bible Institute. Nyquist came to Moody from Avant Ministries, where he served as president. Nyquist received a Master of Theology degree from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1981 and a Ph.D. in systematic theology in 1984. He and his wife, Cheryl, have been married for 27 years and have four children. He can be heard on the weekly broadcast Moody Presents.
Moody Symphonic Band
Moody Symphonic Band, conducted by David Gauger, is comprised of qualified students from Moody's undergraduate school. Their repertoire includes band and orchestral concert music as well as hymn and gospel song arrangements of both traditional and contemporary styles. The Symphonic Band tours the United States twice each year and has occasional overseas tours. The group has traveled and ministered in Austria, China, Denmark, Hong Kong, Hungary, Norway, Romania and Sweden.
