We want to know what verse of Scripture is your life verse. Now, we know that we’re not told in Scripture to choose one of these—and some have even shunned such a thing. But there are different times and seasons when God’s Word just jumps out at you and you say, that’s what I need. That’s what I want to live by. If you have such a verse and you’d like to share it, join us for the final program of 2009 on Chris Fabry Live! Plus we get an update on Urbana 2009, a missions conference for college students.

Wednesday we feature an important topic for all of us. Shawn Lantz has a new study out that deals with jealousy. Living with unmet desires is what she calls it—but this is a topic we could easily talk about here after Christmas—or any time of year, as we compare ourselves and our possessions and families and churches, and even faith, with others.

When you were a child at Christmas, did you hear stories from your parents or grandparents about growing up in the Depression? They talked about how hard it was, and how, if they simply received an orange, they were ecstatic. With hard times upon us, Chris Fabry introduces us to a friend of his who grew up on a sharecropper’s farm. The stories we hear from her help get things in perspective.

It’s one week before Christmas and we want to turn our thoughts to music, and the words of hymns and carols. What words or what line in a Christmas song stands out to you? “Very God; begotten, not created.” “Let loving hearts enthrone him.” “His law is love and His Gospel is peace.” We have so much to talk about, and it won’t be the same without you!

We want to talk about an important subject that you may not associate with Christmas, but we think it’s an important one—having an affair. If you think you’re not at risk for infidelity, watch out. You could be a target. Pastor and author Dave Carder gives some stories from the front lines of the battle, and it may help you avoid a huge mistake.

It’s the week before Christmas week—can you believe it?? And on Chris Fabry Live! we want to help take some of the stress out of these days. We hear a story of a man who hated the commercial aspects of Christmas and what his family did in response one year. This story has inspired people to "give something different" for Christmas since 1982. You won't want to miss it!

Christianity is a love story set amid war. And the best place to see that happening is in marriage. John and Stasi Eldredge say marriage is “a living, breathing portrait laid out before the eyes of the world so that they might see the story of the ages.” And your enemy does not want your marriage to survive. Don’t miss a candid conversation, just in time for a stressful time of year.

Christmas is one of my favorite times of year—I love just about everything about it. But in order for you to have a “good Christmas,” you have to prepare, right? Dr. Bill Thrasher of Moody Bible Institute wants to help us prepare our children, ourselves, and our hearts for the real meaning of Christmas. If you can take a few minutes out of your day and join us, I think you’ll be encouraged.

Thursday we meet a listener named John. You may identify with his story. He was privy to the good life: chief of staff to a U.S. Congressman, successful businessman. But one day the FBI showed up at his door and said he was under investigation. The rest of the story is about what God can do with someone going down on life’s escalator.

Chuck Colson and other evangelical leaders have signed the Manhattan Declaration. They feel it is time for Christians from many traditions to come together to help combat a decaying culture to stand for life and freedom. Last week, Dr. John MacArthur's response to the declaration was cautionary. He said it does damage to the cause evangelicals hold most dear, "the gospel." We talk about the issue with former Moody Bible Institute President Dr. Michael Easley and take your questions and comments.

With the holidays coming up, we want you to think about something important, something we think is on the heart of God—invisible people. No, not your invisible friend you talk to, but the widows, orphans, and people who have fallen through the social cracks in our churches. Author and speaker Miriam Neff helps us identify and reach out to those invisibles.
